AMBA SATRAM in Bhadrachalam is NITYANNADANA SATRAM established by Sri Pamidighantam Venkata Ramana Dasu.
He was a great worshipper of Goddess Seetamma. Everyday afternoon, when he used to give NAIVEDYAM to Seetamma, it is believed that Goddess herself came and took it. Everybody in the SATRAM used to hear the noise of Goddess’s anklets.
Sometimes he used to keep milk as NAIVEDYAM, put it on a rock hill and call Seetamma. Goddess used to come in the form of a snake and have the milk.
Every year on the eve of Sri Rama Navami, he used to serve food to all devotees on a large scale. Once, the cooks from Rajahmundry didn’t turn up on-time. He got severely tensed that he wouldn’t be able to serve food to the devotees.
Two strong and handsome men turned up there with two big vessels, assured Ramana Dasu that they would cook food, closed the doors of the kitchen and cooked food very fast. They told Ramana Dasu that they would take a bath in Godavari river and come back. And they never appeared again. Later, Ramana Dasu got that they were none other than Sri Rama and Lakshmana.
Still today, the vessels used by Sri Rama and Lakshmana could be seen by all the devotees in Amba Satram. Sri Ramana Dasu left for the heavenly abode of Sri Seeta Rama in the year 1985.
